Melanie “Rose” Haltom is an attorney at Katine Nechman McLaurin LLP, where her practice focuses on family law, probate and estates, and guardianship matters. She represents clients in a wide range of family-law issues, including divorce, custody disputes, visitation and access matters, and complex parental-rights issues. Rose is also certified to serve in guardianship proceedings.
Born and raised in Argyle, Texas, Rose earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy, with a minor in Psychology, from Texas A&M University, and received her Juris Doctor from South Texas College of Law Houston in 2025. During law school, she interned for the Honorable Beverly Armstrong of the 338th Criminal District Court, worked in the Harris County District Attorney’s Office in the Crimes Against Children Division, and participated in a legal clinic representing individuals struggling with substance-use disorders. These experiences strengthened her commitment to serving vulnerable individuals and equipped her with a practical, empathetic, and well-rounded approach to advocacy.
Rose is a member of the State Bar of Texas Child Protection Law Section, Family Law Section, and LGBT Law Section.
Outside of her practice, she enjoys spending time with her dog, friends, and her family.
